Remote Learning
If a child is unable to attend school, or if one of our school sites needs to close, Cornerstone Schools can put remote learning in place immediately.
- School closure due to adverse weather
- Utilities issues (for example, power, heating or water)
- A nationwide lockdown
Remote learning across Cornerstone Schools will be high-quality and carefully sequenced. Knowledge and skills are built step-by-step, with clear guidance about what children should learn and practise in each subject. Daily, meaningful interaction between adults and children supports ambitious learning, alongside effective assessment and feedback through Microsoft TEAMS and the Seesaw learning platform. We are committed to offering the same high standard of learning remotely as we do in school.
During periods of remote learning, teachers will provide daily learning activities that are appropriate to each age group and clearly explained for pupils and families. Children will receive regular feedback and opportunities to interact with adults and classmates.
We recognise that families’ circumstances differ, and we will work with parents to support access to devices, learning materials, and additional help where needed, including for pupils with SEND. Online learning is delivered in line with our safeguarding and online‑safety policies. Parents can contact their child’s class teacher through the usual school communication channels for support or guidance.
