National Anti-Bullying week

Last week was National Anti-Bullying week so at St. Francis of Assisi Church of England Primary School, we focused on the Christian values of kindness, respect, friendship as well as celebrating our uniqueness. The children have also developed strategies and opportunities for discussions and sharing worries in a safe space. Year 6 show off their football skills at Trinity Academy Eppleby Forcett

Year six had great fun starting their new football topic. They played mini games which included dribbling, one versus one and two versus two games. Everyone had great fun and put in their full effort and as such it was a wonderful session. Well done to Lucy, who is our star of PE for excellent dribbling and team working skills. Mental Health Day

On Monday, as part of our World Mental Health Day activities, children, staff of Croft and the Silver Ladies had a wonderful time making friendship bracelets, eating lunch and chatting together and learning new songs and singing together in the afternoon. Music to our ears

Trinity Academy Richmond had a visit from instrument teachers from North Yorkshire County Music Service. It was fantastic to have live music in school and they played some very familiar tunes to engage us. We all got a singing lesson too! The teachers demonstrated how to play their instruments  and answered lots of questions about how they became interested in learning to play and what other jobs you can do in the music industry. Madagascar at Trinity Academy Eppleby Forcett and Middleton Tyas

Wow! What can we say? A huge well done to all of years 5 and 6 for their performances during of show. The acting was amazing and all of the children sang superbly. The children have worked so hard on this and deserve an enormous amount of credit for how fantastic the production was. Thank you very much for all of your support from home and for coming along to see Madagascar!

KS2 Richmond Trip

Our pupils at Barton Church of England Primary School turned detective, on a visit to Richmond, searching for historical clues throughout the town. They also had a tour of the Richmond Museum as well as the Georgian Theatre.

Fantastic visit to Richmond School & Sixth Form science department for Croft pupils

Year 5 and Mrs Martin had a fantastic visit this week to Richmond School & Sixth Form science department. They spent the morning in a secondary school science laboratory and were introduced to laboratory equipment.  Pupils conducted various experiments looking at chemical reactions, in particular looking at reversible and irreversible changes and the signs of a chemical reaction. Kirkby Fleetham CE School – Forest School

As it was the last forest school this half term the children were treated to marshmallows to roast over the fire. Some of the children used knives to whittle sticks into marshmallow skewers before roasting the gooey treats! Dr Vasby also taught the children about some of the plants we discovered in the woods and whether they were safe to eat or best to avoid.

Rishi Sunak cuts the ribbon on new climbing frame at Croft

Rishi Sunak MP and Chancellor for the Exchequer, cuts the ribbon on the new climbing frame in Early Years. Mr Sunak performed the official opening of the new climbing frame installed in our Early Years outdoor area. Some of our children had the opportunity to perform for him and ask questions. Northern Echo Publishes Details of the Success of 4 School Leadership Model

Back in September 2019, we launched a pilot scheme to test a pioneering leadership model where four of our member schools: Barton, Ravensworth, East Cowton, and Kirkby Fleetham were placed under the leadership of one Executive Headteacher. Due to the success of the pilot, the Dales Trust Board are delighted to announce that the four-school model will become a permanent arrangement from January 2021.
